Dealing with stress in medical students during COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

Background: Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, Community stress level is increasing day by day not only in Pakistan but also globally. It equally affects all classes. Due to spread of Corona virus, Government of Pakistan has to impose restrictions over the Public movements for their well-being. Due to lock down/Partial lock down like other countries Pakistan has to face stress & economic problems.

Objective: To asses stress among the ANMC medical students during covid-19.

Study Design: Descriptive, cross sectional study design. Place & Duration: The study was conducted during the period of six months from March 2020 to September 2020 at Azra Naheed Medical College Lahore. Methodology: Non probability convenient sampling technique was used and all the students of 1st to final year MBBS were invited for the study. Approval of institutional ethical review committee and informed consent from the participants were obtained. The collected data was organized, entered on SPSS version 22 to analyze by the use of statistical tools. Results: Total 50 students 25 were males and 25 were females.

Conclusion: It is evident that there were a high number of ANMC students being affected by various psychological ailments such as anxiety, stress, and depression.
